Gift Guide // For the Kiddos

Are you guys all shopped out? I unfortunately haven’t even started because I am still playing catch up on e v e r y t h i n g. Seriously. when am I going to catch up and stop feeling like I have to sprint back and forth from 800 things until I collapse in bed way too late? Is this what being a mother of 2 and working will always look like? SEND HELP!? Well anywho, at least I have this guide of what I may buy for our Clover girl even if I will end up getting it the week or day before christmas. Any one of these would do.

SSS x SemiHandmade for Ikea Besta!

I have the best(a) news! who is known mostly for customizing Ikea kitchens with their quality doors is now making doors that are compatible with and that includes my line of ! So, that means all the floating credenza’s, DIY units, and media cabinets just got SO much better. Just before we packed up our LA house, they sent me some of the new SSS doors for the Besta unit I already had in my living room and I gave it a super quick facelift by just swapping out the doors.

To make this unit I bought the “” (no doors) W70⅞×D15¾×H15″ which is $99 from Ikea. I mounted it to the wall with the included hardware and cut a piece of plywood down for the top. I then used wood screws to secure the top to the cabinet coming up from the inside of the cabinet. You’ll also need 3 packs of hinges (one pack of two for each door in your unit) from Ikea and then the doors you purchase from . All of the signature SSS colors are available and I love how the Desert Grey and my beaded fronts bring a little dimension and warmth to what I had there previously.

But wait… there’s more. ;) To illustrate how easy it is to change up the whole look of the space with just a few quick edits, I swapped the SSS x SemiHandmade doors to pink, switched up the rug, art and a few of the accessories. Boom, we have a fresh new room!

I am personally excited about all the new possibilities using the SemiHandmade doors on the Besta storage units and I also can’t wait to see what you guys do with them. Endless Ikea hacks! P.s. Are you team Blush or team Desert Grey?
