shop picks: H&M

I still remember when my Michigan raised self took my first trip to New York as a teenager and discovered . The malls and shopping where I grew up didn’t have such stores, the only place to shop for anything fashion forward was TJ Maxx, and of course I am aging myself, but online shopping wasn’t a thing. So I felt like H&M was the holy grail of fashion that was also affordable to my summer job budget (I also discovered Zara on the trip and I think I spent a good 5 hours there, it was a big day for me and my closet).

Anyway, these days I sometimes check in to see what’s new and have totally forgotten that they have a home section until I was looking for a and wham! I found the perfect one. Oh and thennnn I got started down a rabbit hole and filled my cart with all sorts of home accessories because, copper (!), and because my new studio isn’t going to style itself. So I had to share, so you can join me in my squeals of retail delight ;).

Here is a peek at a few of my favorite and affordable goodies at H&M right now. I also got (!).

Shop Picks: Urban Outfitters

I was wearing from Urban Outfitters recently and my friends couldn’t believe that it was from UO and that I was shopping at UO. ha! Little did they know I shop from there often. Yes, a lot of their items aren’t luxe quality and it can swing wayyyy more boho than me, but more often than not, I find a few pieces of clothing and homegoods that have modern lines, unique shapes and are totally me. They also have been selling goods by smaller designers and artists like my or even prints by , which I love.

Here is what has landed in my Urban Outfitters shopping cart as of late…

shop picks: the citizenry

I’ve mentioned before like with this Thanksgiving tablescape, but I wanted to single them out in a “shop picks” because, wowza, have you seen their new collection?! Not only do I stand behind their of supporting artisans and giving back, but their modern twist on timeworn materials and techniques create some seriously special pieces. I went gaga over that chair, and the lava trays… and the candleholders… you get where I am going with this. I will take one of each please.

shop picks: steven alan

I have a real soft spot for shop owners/curators that also branch out and create their own line (my heart will always be with product).   did just that and his namesake clothing line is a beautiful mix of simplicity and form. The SA shops are also still curated with unique designers that share a similar aesthetic and it is so easy to fall in love with each piece. Here are my top picks…
